Antonio, the owner, lived in the region of Romagna for 6 years and he was very lucky to work with an 80 year old woman who used the old recipes and techniques to make Piadinas.
Back in 2012 he decided to open his first shop, Piadina Salentina, in the heart of the southern Italian city, Lecce. He replaced the traditional lard in the recipe with cold pressed extra virgin olive oil. The result was incredibly tasty and healthy. The shop was always busy and grew very quickly!
In 2015 Antonio moved to London with the dream of bringing the Piadina to England and in 2017 he launched his first shop in London, 'Piadina Genuina.'
A new way to say "Sandwich" is coming!
Forget the old "Panini," the fresh made Piadina has arrived and it has only 5 ingredients:
3-Extra Virgin Olive oil
In addition to our piadinas we also make melted calzones, gluten-free lasagna, handmade ravioli and tagliatelle and a variety of desserts....... All vegan!
This is the last week that Piadina Genuina will be open at 251 Wick Road. We are currently looking for a new location. Our final day here will be Sunday 18th March so come and see us this week!
